How to Build your own HHO Conversion for Your Car, Truck, or Van

Well the truth of the matter like anything else is that there is "some truth" behind the claims. But like the Acai Berry and all the Health Claims people are making about the berries... the truth needs to be tempered by a big dose of reality.

I've watched my share of Youtube Videos on the subject of Hydrogen Fuel cells in the form of HHO.  I've also researched and read about how it works.  At one point I had almost convinced myself to ask my mechanic to help me get a system installed. I didn't pull the trigger because of costs and time.  It seems like the people who are doing this and doing it sucessfully are in the UK. Why?  I don't know.  In any case if this does or does not work I probably won't ever know personally.  But I sure do want it to work!

Lets Get to the Truth about HHO and Water as Fuel

The "Run on Water" claims are a half-truth.  Your car will NOT run on water, but your cars engine will burn HYDROGEN.  Mos of us know from early in grade school that water is H20 or two parts hydrogen and 1 part oxygen and when bound in this fashion we have a nice refreshing and highly useful liquid.  At high temperature water forms into a gas as it evaporates.  But this is NOT what your cars engine can burn.  In order to burn the Hydrogen and Oxygen need to be converted to HHO. Thats 2 parts hydrogen and 1 part oxygen.  Both Oxygen and Hydrogen will burn in this form.  HHO and H2O are obviously not the same!  But you can create HHO from H2O and that is where the claims begin... so you make the gas from water.  And you do this with a process called Electrolysis (a method of using an electric current to drive an otherwise non-spontaneous chemical reaction).

The TRUTH is Hydrogen Works, But does HHO Conversion?

Honda has already designed and PROVEN Hydrogen works! And the byproduct is not pollution as with a gasoline or diesel burning combustion engine.  The byproduct is WATER VAPOR!

So why has this technology not leapfrogged forward?  Because the Automobile and Oil Industries are "holding out" to recoup their investment in "Hybrid Technology"?  Much like Intel in the computer world... these large multi-national corporations MUST recoup their investment before moving forward.  Dman the planet.  So think about that next time you think "Green".  Money is the ultimate lubrication and NOTHING is going to change until the powers that be get their money! So President O'bamas insistance that cars get X MPG by X Date is purely political puppetry.  Sad but true.

Lets Get Back to the Claims that You can Burn Water in Your Car

The reality is you can in fact burn HHO and increase your mileage.  But the claims of 50-75% improvement are outlandish and false.  The best information I can gather is it is possible to increase a gasoline combusion engine like most people have her in the United States between 10-25% and in a Diesel Engine perhaps 30-40%.  If you stop and think about why Europe has higher mileage vehicles while the USA Automobile Manufacturers insist on gas guzzlers you can look to the economics of the situation. Gas in Europe is in the $8-$10 per gallon range.  So it's really all about the money.

So What is the Bottom Line on HHO?

It works according to the people who are doing it.  Will it work for you?  Who knows.  HHO as a catalyst for increased mileage is in its infancy in the genral community.  Keep in mind that the people building these units to install into automobiles are innovators, inventors, handimen, mechanics, and people who are just plain fed up with the high prices of Gasoline.  This is not the kind of thing that everyone will want to do but the information is available and it's available NOW.

I was going to pony up and spend the money on the components and have my mechanic give it a try in my Van. He recently retired and I just don't have anyone else I can trust right now. I'd sure love to drive my full size Chevrolet Van and get even 25 miles per gallon!

I don't know that I coujld do it myself... but I can tell you one thing that is for damn sure, if Honda is making this now... it's possible and it's coming.

Keep in mind the Water is not the fuel until it is turned into HHO and burned.  And the kits you build do not replace the gasoline or diesel in your car it is mixed in with your fuel to improve mileage whereas the Honda is an entire system based on Hydrogen.
